NOW THAT THE SNOW is almost gone from the mountains, we’re excited to be back working at higher elevations, especially up in the Crystal River Valley! With five community project days and many more group projects around Marble and Redstone in the coming months, it’s going to be a busy summer for us up there.
Our restoration work takes many forms (pictured above are volunteers helping restore the Maroon Creek Wetlands, who removed hundreds of pounds of dead trees), but often includes planting, seeding, and invasive species removal.

JAKE WHEELER
New to RFOV projects this year, Jake is an amazing volunteer who jumps head first into every new task he’s presented with. We’ve enjoyed being part of his fun and thoughtful conversations this month, especially on long backcountry projects. Thanks for joining our community, Jake!

GIVEBACK MONTH
This July, two local businesses are giving a portion of sales back to RFOV to support our stewardship work:
Independence Run & Hike - For the entire month of July, Carbondale's outdoor store will donate 5% of hiking gear and shoe proceeds to RFOV. Stop by and support us!
Two Leaves and a Bud Tea - From July 19 - 31, the Basalt-based tea company will donate 10% of sales from their new Matcha Lemonade to RFOV! You can purchase through their website (and stop by a July project to get a taste).
