May 2023

PLEASE WELCOME NEW RFOV STAFF!

With spring in the air, RFOV is so excited to kick-off the 2023 project season! Last week, we welcomed 6 new seasonal staff at Colorado National Monument for our annual staff training trip. Meanwhile, May is full of trailwork at Mushroom Rock on Red Hill and Storm King in Glenwood Springs along with community trainings like Crew Leaders, Intro to Restoration Skills, and Project Ambassadors. We hope you come out and join us as we welcome the changing of the seasons.

Raised in both the Roaring Fork Valley and southern Illinois, Alexis McIntyre worked on a backcountry crosscut crew and lead a trail crew before this next adventure at RFOV as Field Coordinator.

Born in England, raised in Virginia, and transplanted to Colorado, Chris Shumpert worked as an environmental educator and climber steward before joining RFOV as a Field Coordinator.

Jenny Rokosch grew up nested in between the Bitterroot and Sapphire Mountains of Montana. Passionate about environmental policy and playing in the great outdoors, Jenny joins RFOV as Trail Crew Leader.

Coming from New Hampshire, Riley Holzhuter most recently worked a trail crew member with Student Conservation Association. Always looking to learn from the people and places she meets hiking and camping, Riley joins RFOV as a Trail Crew Member.

After living and working in Denver for 3 years, Laurel Wright is excited to experience the western slope. Devoted to conserving natural areas for everyone to enjoy, Laurel joins RFOV as a Trail Crew Member.

Raised in Chattanooga, Tennessee, Carter Grey is rejuvenated after a day trail running, rock climbing, or hiking in the woods. Passionate about encouraging a culture of respect for our lands, Carter joins RFOV as a Trail Crew Member.
