SOUTH CANYON MANAGEMENT PLAN
The City of Glenwood Springs is developing a management plan for the future of South Canyon that will touch on current recreational aspects - archery range, gun range, hot springs and trail network - with understandings of natural and cultural assets and the risks and benefits of creating new recreational opportunities. The plan will include fire mitigation strategies, wildlife protection, ecological studies, and historical insight on the coal mining days. The goal is a working blueprint for how to manage and protect the 3000+ acres of dedicated parkland and 9+ miles of trail in South Canyon for future generations.
El Plan de Gestión para Áreas de Recreación de South Canyon informará sobre nuevas prácticas de gestión y recreación con la comprensión de los recursos naturales y culturales del área y los riesgos y beneficios de crear nuevas oportunidades recreativas.
The RFOV community is invited to participate in a survey through the QR code below to share your thoughts on the future of recreation in South Canyon!
