NEXT YEAR IS COMING QUICK! Staff at Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers are already planning for community projects in 2022. What's important to you?
Keep reading to learn how to submit your project idea:
SUSTAINABLE RECREATION
Across 4 counties, RFOV serves 600 miles of trails and tens of thousands of trail-users. Ensuring that everyone can enjoy our outdoors means making recreation sustainable.
RESTORATION
Our landscapes include degraded riparian zones and habitats that can once again be vibrant ecosystems with the help of restoration techniques.
FIRE
The increasing frequency and severity of wildland fires affects everyone: both pre-fire mitigation and post-fire restoration are vital to keep our community healthy.
What Makes a Community Project?
Every year, RFOV hosts sustainable recreation, restoration, and fire projects open to all ages, abilities, and backgrounds. Our season extends from May through October and projects can be located in Garfield, Eagle, Pitkin, or Gunnison counties.
Community Projects are located on public lands (federal, state, county, or municipal) and can accomplish work that is physically easy, moderate, or strenuous.
Please let us know if you have an idea for a community project! RFOV's Project Selection Committee will begin meeting later this month to transform suggestions from land managers and community members like yourself into a project slate for 2022.
