Time for Winter Hikes!

From our friends at Aspen Trail Finder:

The Roaring Fork Valley has a wide range of altitudes and different areas experience different temperatures and lengths of winter. Unless there is a seasonal closure, there’s nothing to limit you from enjoying any trail during the winter months.

Some trails are used more than others year-round and have better paths through the snow. During the winter, there are also nordic specific trails that are groomed when the conditions are right. Knowing the conditions of the trail can radically effect your adventure.

Winter hiking in the Valley is just another way to enjoy the stunning scenery and gorgeous mountains on our precious public lands!

A SPARE ROOM OR APARTMENT IN THE VALLEY?

We're looking for RFOV community members to host our hardworking seasonal employees during the 2023 field season (April 17 - October 15). Seasonal employees undergo a background check, and you are welcome to charge them a reasonable market rate.

If you're interested or would like more information, please reach out to Melissa at mdaniels@rfov.org.

The 2022 End-of-Year giving season offers extra reasons to support RFOV through Colorado Gives. Giving between now and December 6 will increase RFOV's chances to win more than $30,000!

Financial support from individual members is critical to Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers (RFOV). Much of RFOV's funding comes through grants that are tied to specific projects, trails, or areas. Less restricted funds from individual donors like YOU enable us to invest more in our community, respond to emerging issues like post-fire restoration, and build long term financial resilience.

A gift of any size has impact and is greatly appreciated.

JOIN THE RFOV TEAM IN 2023

RFOV is hiring 3 different field positions for next season - Trail Crew Leader, Trail Crew Members, and Field Coordinators (7 total positions).

All positions are 6-month seasonal opportunities, April 17-October 15, 2023. These roles are field-based and include living, professional development, and gear stipends. Please click here to read all 3 full job descriptions and application instructions.

Many thanks for sharing this note with anyone in your networks that you feel could be interested in RFOV.
