August 2022

The wildflowers are blooming, aspen trees are quaking, and Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers is in full summer swing with an August brimming with awesome volunteer opportunities!

We are thrilled to offer 4 amazing community projects and a skills training this month in some of the most beautiful sites throughout our service area.

Want to learn what it takes to construct a new mountain bike trail? Join us to help construct the new Airline Climbing Trail at Sky Mountain Park! Fantastic vistas and barbecue more your speed? Then join us for the Marble Stewardship Extravaganza to care for the unique trails and sites in and around Marble...and to eat Slow Groovin! Maybe you’re looking to challenge yourself with some high altitude trail maintenance and boulder rolling? If so, sign up for our Linkins Lake Trail project or our Intro to Rock Skills training: the mountains are calling!

As they say, “It's important to know what you like, but not only like what you know." We have a lot of diverse ways to get outdoors this month. We hope to see you'll come and learn new skills, steward our local natural spaces, meet new people, and expand the bounds of your comfort zone!

VOLUNTEER OF THE MONTH

Stacy Treganza

Wow! What a guy! This is Stacy's first summer with RFOV but he's jumped right in – with his good nature, can-do attitude, and interest in exploring new places, Stacy greets every bit of trailwork and restoration with a smile. We're so glad that he embraces the community spirit of stewardship. Thank you Stacy.

2022 TRAIL BLAZER – PAONIA SOIL COMPANY
