Following this summer’s landslides in Glenwood Canyon / Grizzly Creek Burn Area, this will be the first in a series of three public townhall events. Presentations on the topic of “Infrastructure & Water” will be followed by an opportunity for community questions.

This short afternoon educational opportunity, taught by RFOV staff, will prepare individuals who have never before completed trailwork with basic tool-use and trail-construction techniques.

On the 3rd anniversary of Lake Christine Fire restoration, join RFOV, host Basalt Library, and Burn Area stakeholders for brief presentations about our restoration efforts. An opportunity for questions will be provided at the end. This virtual townhall will be offered online only.

Working collaboratively with the Colorado 14ers Initiative, RFOV will provide a ½ day educational opportunity to prepare volunteers to operate autonomously either on high peaks or trailheads to greet trail-users and provide basic alpine ecology, trail-construction, and trail etiquette conversations, in addition to gathering basic use statistics.

A lot has been done since the Grizzly Creek Fire began last August. This virtual townhall, hosted by Garfield County Public Libraries, will be streamed online, and will feature presentations from Burn Area stakeholders and offer the opportunity for public questions.
