Volunteer Trainings

Want to take your skills to the next level? RFOV has a variety of training opportunities to get more involved in our work and deepen your knowledge of trail work, restoration, pollinator gardens, and leading volunteers. Registration for Crew Leader and Project Ambassador Trainings are below and registration for all other trainings will be open to the public starting on April 1.

Crew Leader Training

April 12 | 8:00 am - 5:30 pm | Third Street Center

RFOV relies on volunteer crew leaders to make a busy project season successful. Have you ever wanted to help lead other volunteers in trail, restoration, and fire mitigation projects? RFOV is pioneering a new hybrid crew leader training with online instructional modules and a single day of in-person training! Upon completion of the training, Crew Leaders will be required to shadow and lead 2 community projects throughout the 2025 season. For more information and questions, please reach out to Jack Douglas.

Project Ambassador Training

April 15 | 6:00 - 7:30 pm | Third Street Center

RFOV's community projects depend on Project Ambassadors to sign in and orient volunteers, talk to the community about the project and other RFOV work during the volunteer day, and support general project logistics. Please come learn about the Project Ambassador program and join us in this accessible, low-impact volunteer opportunity. Training will be located at the 3rd Street Center in Carbondale.

Registration for all other trainings will be open to the public on April 1!
