Riley

Grand Valley High School, Grade 11

My name is Riley and I am a junior at Grand Valley High School. I love reading, hiking, and soccer. I enjoy helping out the community as much as I can, along with giving back to those who have helped me. I am very excited and feel lucky to be a part of this program. YIN lets me explore my opportunities and get outside of my comfort zone.

 

Dariana

Coal Ridge High School, Grade 12

I am a senior at Coal Ridge high school. I love that Youth In Nature allows me to be outdoors and reconnect with natural spaces. In my free time, I manage boys and girls soccer, basketball, and volleyball. I also run track and love to paint and draw. Next year I want to study abroad, go to college and study neuroscience, or join the marines.

Glenwood Springs High School, Grade 11

My name is Caleb, I go to Glenwood Springs High School. I love fishing in the many lakes and rivers that surround our valley. I also love exploring in nature to discover new places. Being in Youth In Nature allows me to be outside having fun, while also meeting and building relationships with new people.

Roaring Fork High School, Grade 10

I’ve always lived inCarbondale,CO. Golfing is my greatest passion, but I also enjoy working out, skiing, and hanging out with friends. Being part of Youth In Nature means a lot to me and I am looking forward to all the different experiences in the outdoors and getting to share these experiences with new friends.

Coal Ridge High School, Grade 11

I am 16 years old and love the outdoors and trying new things. In my free time, I enjoy baking, reading, and drawing. I am very grateful to be a part of a program that offers such a welcoming environment and the opportunity to explore the outdoors with my new friends, all while giving back to our community. I am excited to see what other adventures we will have this year!

 

Ela

Aspen High School, Grade 12

I really enjoy  athletics and play several sports; Figure Skating, Alpine Ski Racing, and Cross Country Running. In addition to athletics, I am a peer tutor at my high school, teach Learn To Skate classes for Aspen Skating club, and am a Youth Ski Instructor for the Aspen Skiing Company. In my free time I enjoy being outdoors with my dogs, spending time with family and friends, and going on adventures in the backcountry.

Glenwood Springs High School, Grade 12

I just moved to Colorado and the Roaring Fork Valley a few years ago. I’ve grown up moving overseas and have loved living in and exploring more of Colorado these past few years. I’m involved in many activities in school and the community like mock trial, the Glenwood Parks and Recreation commission, and I play lacrosse. I’m so excited to be a part of Youth In Nature!

Coal Ridge High School, Grade 10

I am a sophomore at Coal Ridge high school. Im a big book lover, a cheerleader, a member of FFA, and compete in public speaking events. I love being active and trying new things. I was so excited to be handed this opportunity and get to know new people while also doing things that connect me with nature.

Rifle High School, Grade 10

I am 16 years old. My hobbies include biking, gaming, exploring the outdoors, fishing, and socializing. Youth In Nature allows me to enjoy my hobbies and get out of my small comfort zone by meeting new people and trying new activities that I am unfamiliar with. One thing I hope to take away from this group are some new activities, new memories, and people.

Roaring Fork High School, Grade 12

I’ve lived here my whole life and love to explore nature, especially in the beautiful Colorado mountains. My hobbies include skiing, hiking, and mountain biking. I love that Youth In Nature has created a diverse group of students to experience the great outdoors. This program has allowed me to push myself out of my comfort zone to expand my knowledge of nature and connect with new people.

Roaring Fork High School, Grade 10

I have lived in Carbondale for most of my life. In my free time, I like arts and crafts and watching movies. Youth In Nature has given me the opportunity to get out and engage with the environment around me. I feel lucky to be part of this program and am looking forward to learning new things, seeing new places and becoming more informed about the valley that I live in.
