What to Expect

RFOV is excited to partner with Roaring Fork Mountain Bike Association and Pitkin County to continue improving trails at Sky Mountain Park. A short, eroded section of the Skyline Ridge trail will be improved through a small reroute and installing drainage.



Please park at the Snowmass Village Rodeo Lot and check in at the RFOV tent. From there, volunteers will head up Viewline trail to the intersection with Skyline Ridge where work will begin.


Project Schedule

4:00 pm (or whenever you arrive) Hike/bike to Skyline Ridge + begin work

8:00 pm Dinner at the Rodeo Lot



RFOV will provide dinner + drinks post project. Please bring your own water and snacks.


What to Wear

Please layer your clothing to be ready for a warm evening with cooler weather as the sun sets. Be prepared with a hat, sunscreen, and rain gear. Long pants are recommended and sturdy, closed-toed shoes are required.


What to Bring

    • Work/trail shoes
    • Work gloves
    • Sunscreen, hat, sunglasses, etc.
    • Rain gear (jacket, pants)
    • Insect repellent
    • Water (at least 1/2 gallon)
  • Personal snacks



On Google Maps – search “Snowmass Rodeo” located on Brush Creek Rd

From Basalt (down-valley)

Follow Colorado HWY 82 East towards Aspen. Turn right onto Brush Creek Rd. At the roundabout, take the first exit into the Rodeo lot (the dirt parking lot on the right). Please check in at the RFOV tent when you arrive.

From Aspen (up-valley)

Follow Colorado HWY 82 West. Turn left onto Owl Creek Rd. In 4.4 miles continue straight onto Highline Rd. At the roundabout, take the second exit into the Rodeo lot (the dirt parking lot).


Important notes

  • To ensure the safety of your furry friends and all volunteers, pets are not permitted on RFOV projects.
  • This project is appropriate for volunteers 12 years old and older. We request direct guardian supervision of any minors attending this project.
