 Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers

Our Mission:
To promote stewardship of our public lands by creating volunteer opportunities for trail work and conservation projects.

Our Vision:
The preservation and enhancement of our natural surroundings is the responsibility of every member of our regional community. Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers empowers our community to create a lasting legacy for future generations.

RFOV Programs:

Volunteer Projects: We work with land management agencies and other project partners to develop and conduct volunteer projects with long-lasting results.  Our projects are one to seven days in duration and typically involve 25 to 75 volunteers each.

Adopt a Piece of Your Public Lands: We encourage small groups and individuals to adopt parks, sections of trails, or rivers in order to provide ongoing maintenance, and to spend two to three days a year working on their adopted area.

Assisting Other Organizations with Volunteer Projects: Many agencies and organizations have small or extended projects they wish to accomplish.  RFOV helps others by lending our tools, providing consulting, and helping with volunteer recruitment and publicity.

Guiding Principles:
Roaring Fork Outdoor Volunteers will:
• Select and complete long-lasting projects on public lands throughout our region.
• Provide a satisfying volunteer experience that is safe, well-organized, and fun.
• Create and foster partnerships between land management agencies and the community.
• Involve and recognize volunteers as an essential component of our success.
• Educate members of the community to appreciate the value of sustainable trails and good stewardship ideals.
